I used to think that following trends was ridiculous and unnecessary but I now think it is a fun way to mix it up and a great way to prevent yourself from getting bored. There are a couple makeup trends this season that can be a little difficult to wear such as bright orange lips, green eye shadow and blue eye shadow depending on your eye color. All the fashion trends displayed on the runway can be toned down and turned into very wearable every day styles.
1. Glowing Skin
Glowing skin is a great look for spring! This is the time to pull out your BB Creams and Tinted Moisturizers for light coverage and more natural looking skin. When doing face makeup you will also find illuminating powders (and liquids) to be helpful in highlighting the cheekbones, nose and forehead while using a little bit of bronzer below the cheeks.
2. Blue Eye Shadow
Models were sporting bold blue eye shadow on the runway. This color stretches all the way into the crease in a solid block of color. This could be difficult to wear if you have blue eyes but I am sure there is a way to keep it wearable.
3. White Eye Shadow and Liner
The white eye shadow and liner look could be found all over the place giving a simple fresh glow to the eyelid. One of my favorite looks had white layered over the lid with brightness brought to the inner corner of the eyes and a subtle cat eye done with white liner.
4. Soft Berry Lips
Though you normally see dark lips during fall and winter seasons it looks like the berry shades are making a comeback for spring. The berry tones we were seeing at fashion week were toned down to a very natural and believable lip color.
5. Cat Eye
While cat eyes are always chic they will definitely be in style this spring! Dust off your liquid liner in the darkest black you can find and get ready to wing it out. But don't feel that you have to stick to black eyeliner, as long as you have nice clean lines you can use any color you like.
6. Gilded Lids
Golds and metallic shades are going to be big this season! I love a good gold eye look because I feel that it can work well with all eyes. This is where you will find glitter and pigments to be super helpful for a showstopping look. But if you want a simple day look it shouldn't be too had to tone it down.
I hope these are helpful and that you can incorporate these into your everyday looks to spice up your style. If you would like to see any of these runway looks brought down to something wearable let me know in the comment section and I may be able to do a tutorial! Please comment and give me any suggestions!
My next post will appear on Wednesday and I will be uploading a new YouTube video tomorrow!
